This is the circulation pump motor that drives water through the spray arms during the wash and rinse cycles in a dishwasher. It pressurizes water so it can reach and clean dishes effectively. Replace this motor if the dishwasher fills with water but doesn't spray, makes a humming noise without circulating water, or if dishes are coming out dirty despite proper detergent use.
Figured it was either the capacitor and/or motor. Ordered both parts to be sure. tried changing the capacitor first; same problem. Replaced the motor (leaving the new capacitor in place). I bought the part from AppliancePartsPros.com. Removed water inlet hose. Removed water outlet hose. Removed water inlet valve which was held on with one screw. Replaced the water inlet value.
