The foam was shot on the detergent cup lid. Hard as a rock. Causing caking problems, dribble down the inside wall of the door and leaving lumps of detergent. Cut the door in half wit aviation snips and pulled out the two halves. Discovered at this point that the spring had gone soft. Bought one ahead of time, so I was set. Put the spring on the left pin, put the spring pin in the door, slipped the door into place (open) and put the right pin in with pliers. Door snaps open now. Read more

Kit includes more than shown on picture. New kit is for both plastic and stainless tubs. Plastic tubs use only the float and the switch stainless tubs use all the parts.
I replaced the float switch. It was an easy enough repair. I didn't have to remove the dishwasher to do the work. The part is accessible from behind the front skirt.The only problem was there is not a lot of space to work in. Getting the fastener off and on requires a stubby nut driver. I used a flexible extension instead. I had to feel for the nut as the bottom of the door blocked my view. This door latch hook engages with the door strike to securely hold your dishwasher door closed during operation. It ensures proper sealing and prevents the door from opening while the unit is running. Found the retaining clip on the parts list. Watched the videos to figure out how the upper arm attaches. Tried cleaning out the terribly clogged upper arm. Then looked at the lower wash arm--WOW! Talk about ugly clogs! Watched second video to see how that lower arm comes off. Got the lower arm off and realized all the gunk I was able to poke out of the holes would just come back, so replaced both spray arms. YES, the upper arm includes the retaining clip!! Replaced the heater element, per the video. Also had to connect a new terminal to one of the heater element wires. Once the heater was again connected electrically, the washer completed the entire wash cycle without hesitation. (During the time that the heater element was non-functional, the control "dial" would stop near the bottom, about half way through the cycle, and had to be advanced "one click" manually).
