Replaced the control panel. Really simple replacement. Make sure to disconnect power from dishwasher before starting. 1. Remove the inside door panel by removing the torx screws around the perimeter. Be careful not to lose the small vent gasket. There is enough wire to allow the panel to be moved out of the way, but remember that the door is spring loaded, so you may want to place a small weight on the outer door panel to keep it from springing closed. 2. I found a link on the internet that said the ribbon connector in the Maytag dishwashers corrode and short out. They said you could do a cheap fix by cleaning the corrosion off the "printed circuit wiring" on the ribbon connector and resealing the "wires" with liquid electrical tape.
