Ordered the part. Arrived the next day. Took the eleven screws off the door exposing the back of the Soap/Rinse Aid dispenser. Six screws hold it on the inside of the door. Popped off easily. There is a plug that runs from the timer to the dispenser…it's a pain to get off. Use a flat head screw driver. Screwed the new unit in place. Plugged it in. Put the door back together. I accidentally caught the door catch in the door and screwed it together seizing it...so I had to take the top screws off... Read more

Replaced the control panel. Really simple replacement. Make sure to disconnect power from dishwasher before starting. 1. Remove the inside door panel by removing the torx screws around the perimeter. Be careful not to lose the small vent gasket. There is enough wire to allow the panel to be moved out of the way, but remember that the door is spring loaded, so you may want to place a small weight on the outer door panel to keep it from springing closed. 2. I found a link on the internet that said the ribbon connector in the Maytag dishwashers corrode and short out. They said you could do a cheap fix by cleaning the corrosion off the "printed circuit wiring" on the ribbon connector and resealing the "wires" with liquid electrical tape. Changing baskets is no-brainer job, as they come complete with all plastics and rollers. Upper slides require removal of the stoppers, but this is easy task, just squeeze them and pull back.
