This timer with a built-in chime controls cycle sequencing and provides an audible end-of-cycle signal so the appliance finishes and alerts you when a cycle is complete. It replaces a failed or silent control timer. What it does:
Remove front door, front cover and drum, checked all the wires to and from the heater core including those attached to the fan housing and had full continuity through all components including fuses, temp controls, heater coil, etc, checked input for 220 volt and it was OK Ordered the timer and installed and it worked just fine, I think there should be a simple test that could be done on the timer to verify that this function is no longer working I would be happy to send you the old one... Replaced the control board after removing the inner door liner, plastice board cover and board itself, by removing screws, working various plastic clips/tabs and unclipping wire harnesses from board. most of time was spent cleaning the black soot from the door, which had a terrible burnt electrical/plastic fire smell. Cleaned mold/scale off of as much of the door as I could while in there as well. Removing parts without breaking plastic tabs to hold the new parts was trickiest part. Read more
