The Power Cord is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool electric dryers. Extending from the rear of the unit, the durable cord safely channels the high current needed for power cycles and airflow. With a heat-resistant jacket and contact plug construction, the cord withstands ambient temperatures well beyond its warranty.
Causes of a bad power cord involve flex fatigue through repeated positioning and weakening internal wires. Normal drying heat cycles may degrade insulating layers.

Dryer won't start when door closes? A faulty door switch prevents operation by not detecting door closure. Moderate DIY repair, requires front panel removal.
Replaced rollers, spindles, and belt. Also replaced gas igniter, solenoid, burn tube, and all sensors. Sensors come in a kit and wish roller kit included them. Only issue is the back spindles are left handed threads. Took about 3 hours to complete. 30 minutes of that time was cleaning all the lint that was everywhere! I followed the instructions provided by customers that previously described how they made the same repair. In addition; I ended up placing a small piece of scotch tape on the door to hold the spring in place, while I tried to place the end of the door into the hole. This is a spring that provides tension to the lint screen door on the dryer. It helps the lint screen door open and close properly so the lint trap stays securely in place during operation. Replace this spring if the lint screen door no longer stays shut, won't open easily, or the original spring is broken or stretched out.
