White oven door handle attaches to the front of your range door. Replace if cracked, broken, or screw mounting inserts are damaged. Installs with screws.
Removed oven door by simply lifting it off of the hinges. New models of most stoves have two screws easily accessible from inside the oven door, but this older stove required the entire inner part of the oven door to be disassembled and the interior glass removed before the two screws that attach the handle can be accessed. I knew for sure that the hinge with the large spring was damaged, but elected to replace both hinges and receivers. Replacing the parts was fairly easy and would have taken me less then an hour. This model has thin metal covers over the hinge assemblies. I found that squeezing in the sides of the covers help to hold them in place on the hinge while reassembling the door. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length.
