Drum Support Shaft For Left Hand Threads
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10359272

The Drum Support Shaft for Left Hand Threads is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. This component is essential for securing and supporting the drum as it rotates during the drying cycle. It helps maintain the drum’s alignment and stability, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the dryer.

Over time, the drum support shaft can become worn out or damaged due to continuous use, the weight of laundry loads, or improper installation. Additionally, exposure to high temperatures and repeated mechanical stress can cause the shaft to weaken or fail, leading to issues with the dryer’s performance.

Symptoms of a bad drum support shaft include:

  • The drum not rotating smoothly or making grinding noises
  • Excessive wobbling or vibrating of the drum during the drying cycle
  • The dryer taking longer to dry clothes or not drying them evenly
  • Visible damage or wear on the shaft or its threads
  • The drum becoming misaligned or not sitting properly within the dryer

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11581317

Moving to a propane home? Convert your natural gas dryer to LP with this orifice kit. Straightforward DIY process takes 1.5-2.5 hours with careful work.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Natural gas to propane conversion   Jeff D. • Rancho Cucamonga , CA • March 17, 2014

I'm not an appliance mechanic and have never worked on a dryer before, but I have worked as an instrument technician and lightly dabbled in HVAC repairs. We moved from natural gas to a new home with propane, so purchased this kit to make the conversion. In my mind I thought it would be fairly quick and easy, change a few fittings, etc, but realized upon reading the instructions that I needed to disassemble most of the dryer. The work was straightforward but since this was my first time... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My maytag gas dryer would start and the the tumbler rotate but the igniter would not glow and flame not start   .gil P. • Enumclaw , WA • March 29, 2015

The 2 sensors that sit on top of the flame tube work together. The Thrmst F should check closed, as should the Cutoff-TML, in order for power to flow to the ignitor. If the Cutoff is open, it is usually because the Thrmst-F did not open soon enough. The Thermst-F will cycle, closed to open, and repeat, however the Cutoff-HTML is a one time switch. If it opens it will not return to closed, and subsequently the ignitor will not glow. Some professionals say that if one of these sensors fail, both... Read more

Dryer Natural Gas Limiter
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP694424

If your dryer won't stay lit or shuts off after a few minutes, the gas limiter may be faulty. This regulator controls safe gas flow to the burner.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I needed to convert from lp to natural gas   Mark S. • Raleigh , NC • June 01, 2015

Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Towels started taking a long time to dry.   Kevin M. • Middleville , MI • October 31, 2020

My dryer lint filter was clogged beyond regular cleaning due to its age. After 15 years of daily use it was time to replace. In.the process of determining why the dryer was taking so long to dry loads, I noticed the filter housing gasket had torn off somehow which allow a lot of lint to pass through into the dryers main housing. I believe this prevented the dryer to have good air flow. Replacing both the filter and its housing was easy and fixed the problem pronto! I saved myself $1000 by... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Squeaking kenmore dryer that stopped working   Paul M. • Norcross , GA • November 28, 2016

First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. The dryer was filled with lint and dust/dirt, so I also saw that the seals on the dryer had deteriorated greatly. AppliancePartsPros website is outstanding, far better than its competitors. This made it easy to find the parts and videos that I needed. It took hours to pull everything... Read more
