This is a small hose that connects to the dispenser valve assembly inside the washing machine, directing water into the detergent or fabric softener dispenser. I watched the youtube video from appliancepartspros that explained every step of how to install shipping bolts on a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer. The step that I would have missed without the video was removing the top cover from the washer in order to push the drum down enough for the shipping bolts to connect.
