Replacement fastener screw for appliances. Secures panels, trim, clips, and components. Needed when original screws are stripped, missing, or damaged.
Removed the handle with two screws on the inside front and pulled out the custom wood panel. Pulled the compactor out from under cabinet. Tipped it over on back of unit, supporting it with a little foot stool. Unscrewed two lower screws at bottom of unit holding black trim panel (that held wood panel in place) and lower black rubber flap. Replaced the ice maker. The kit came with everything I needed to replace the ice maker. Parts that did not come with the kit were re-used from the old one. My Whirlpool refrig/freezer is an older model so the wiring harness that came with the kit was different from my existing. Fix freezer icing and warm fridge temps by replacing a faulty defrost timer. Typical DIY repair takes 15-30 minutes with basic tools and a multimeter.
I took the bottom tray out of the freezer and found the coils iced up severely. I was reasonably sure the defrost timer was the problem and your tech said that was a good possibility. Ordered and replaced timer. (15 minutes) Problem fixed!!! Saved purchasing a new fridge at big bucks.
