This is the inner spin basket (tub) that holds clothes during the wash and spin cycles in a top-load or front-load washing machine. It rotates at high speed to extract water from laundry and contains perforations that allow water to drain through. Replace the spin basket if it is cracked, has rough spots that snag clothing, shows visible rust, or wobbles excessively during the spin cycle.
