Replacement rear wheel for refrigerators. Mounts to the bottom rear frame to enable smooth rolling for cleaning and repositioning. Order if cracked or missing.
The front wheel assembly replacement (WRXO2X12454) was straightforward and easy to do. Took maybe 30 minutes start to finish. The rear wheel assembly (wheel WRO2X10695 and axle WRO1X10604) that was more involved as the original wheel axle is actually a rivet that you have to cut out. 1. I used a vibrating multitool with a carbide blade to cut the axle out. Had to use a pair of vise grips to hold the rivet to keep it from spinning while cutting it. 2. The new axle I drilled a 2mm hole thru the... Read more

Fix inconsistent temps or ice buildup on evaporator coils? This sensor seal protects accuracy. DIY-friendly with wire splicing. Video guide available.
This fridge has had a problem of ice building up around evaporator coil in fresh food side. Wife (she HATES this thing) says it's done this from day one; 10 years. GE guy says all these models do this and there's no fix for it, so we have clean out the ice periodically... Like the 1940s pre auto defrost. Now with the issue of FF side temp too highi assumed the ice had built up around FF evaporator coil preventing proper cooling, but AppliancePartsPros.com suggested the FF temp thermistor may... Directs defrost water from the evaporator to the drain pan below your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, damaged, or clogged to prevent water pooling.
Pulled down the existing drain tube and installed new one. Tight area so it requires two hands to push up and attach the new tube. Replaced original (18 yrs.) 1/4" plastic tubing, clamp and grommet (AppliancePartsPros/GE parts) from outlet of ice maker water control valve to ice maker inlet. Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends. Repair job with AppliancePartsPros parts from outlet of water control valve went perfectly well, was simple, and had no leaks when tested. Parts were easy to install,... Read more
Fix a warm fridge with frozen evaporator coils. This defrost heater assembly melts frost buildup to restore proper cooling. Moderate DIY difficulty.
Isolated the problem to extreme frost build up on the evaporator coils. I measured an open circuit on the defrost heater/thermostat, so I ordered both. Following the procedure in the GE service manual for this refrigerator, I gained access to the evaporator in the back of the freezer section, and I replaced the both heater element and the defrost thermostat. Refrigerator cools fine now. The most unexpected thing was how quickly the parts came. They arrived at my front door 18 hours after... Read more

Protective grille cover that mounts over the temperature sensor in your refrigerator. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to properly shield the sensor.
Common theme on the blogs was thermistors and or defrost heater/thermostat. Ran self-diagnostics which turned on defrost heater which was fine. All five thermistors indicated ok on diagnostic also, but I read more than one time "replace the thermistors no matter what if your FF section isn't cooling". So I ordered all five thermistors and defrost limiter thermostat. Received all in 48 hours (great shipping service), took me about three hours to replace all thermistors and thermostat just as... Fridge running warm or uneven temps? This air tower assembly channels cold air through the refrigerator. Restores proper airflow and consistent cooling.
After checking the defrost heater to confirm it was ok. I replaced the main electronic board. That wasn't it. After 1 1/2 weeks, it frosted up again. I called and talked to a tech person at APP and then ordered the air tower, defroster thermostat, and temp sensor. I installed them all and the frig works great. I know replacing all those parts at once didn't confirm which one failed, but I just wanted it fixed. The cost was less than having a service call. The parts arrived the day after... Read more
