The Door Light Switch is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. It is a component located inside the refrigerator door that turns the interior light on and off based on door position. The light switch works with a door switch plate and light socket assembly to automatically illuminate the interior when the door is opened. Causes of a bad switch can be normal wear and tear over time, especially from frequent door openings. The contact points within the switch can become corroded or damaged. Symptoms of a bad light switch include:
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.
Switch replacement was easy: -unplug fridge -using medium flathead, pry out old switch, starting from back, be gentle it's all plastic -when switch pops out, grab the wires and don't let them fall back into hold -there should be three wires -connect to new switch in same pattern -push new switch back in, being careful to orient it correctly while replacing the freezer switch, i noticed that one of the wires had loosened up and detacted from the old switch anyway, which was probably the actual... This is the second time of needing repair. I remove the ice bucket, open the crusher, remove the 5 blades. Straighten the blades, reinstall. I then order new blades, The next time it happens I will install the new blades. The reason for the malfunction, (my guess), two ice cubes partially melted stick together and the size and angel the enter crusher cause the problem. I don't see it as the crusher problem or the blades being to weak. The ice container gets over full, opening and closing the... Read more
The opening for the on/off switch is no longer in the shelf. Per manufacturing.
Replacing the ice maker fixed the issue. Because the ice maker was redesigned. I needed a new ice cream shelf. If your current ice maker has a power switch that is vertical, you will need a new ice cream shelf to make it fit correctly. The repair was very easy. All I had to do is loosen two screws on the ice maker mount and slide it out. Then disconnect the connector and install the new ice maker. It was probably the easiest repair I have ever done. Replaced motor and new solenoid and yoke assembly, motor ran fine but Ice maker did not make Ice, water was turned on and the wire off and on latch was is the down position (on). Disconnected the water line from the Ice maker tray, ice had formed in the line while I was waiting for my parts (about 5 days), I would suggest disconnecting the water line at the feed end were your shut off valve is located and allow water to drain out of line. I had to remove Ice tray and submerge it pan of hot... Read more

First, I will never, ever make the mistake of unscrewing anything on an appliance while it is still connected to power - what started as a cosmetic fix on the freezer door ended up costing me $340 to fix after I shorted out one of the boards for the dispenser. Replaced both the Ice dispenser power board and Ice dispenser control board. I tried to get information on how to test which of my boards had gone bad, since these are pricey parts, but could not find a reliable way to test. And since... Read more

Shelving went in without a problem. Very simple. Checked the installation video anyway in case there was a trick to not breaking something. Learned that the nylon clips needed to be transferred and found one missing on another shelf, so ordered a replacement. The water valve was one I replaced some time ago but one of the solenoids was bad, confirmed with a meter (ohm reading is between 200-500; less than 200 or more than 500 is broken). Replaced it without a problem (becoming expert at... Read more
