Fixes ice dispenser not dispensing or auger not turning. This motor assembly drives the auger shaft that moves ice from bin to chute. Moderate difficulty.
Replaced the motor, however not the easiest to do with the older refrigerators. First I had to remove the shelf that hold the ice bin. There is a small screw midway underneath the tray. Once removed the shelf is loose but still hard to remove. There is a side panel that is slotted andonce removed the shelf can then be removed, but not knowing that it is a very odd fitting unit. The appliance repair technician showed me that the blue flab of this air vent was missing. He said that the part would cost about $150 so he put a piece of tape over it to limit the air flow. This might have worked fine but I had used AppliancePartsPros.com to keep a dishwasher going previously and checked what they wanted for the part. I found it available, affordable and had the factory like repair done in a few days. The part just snaps into place requiring no tools or skill! Read more
This is a small knurled roll pin that serves as the hinge pivot for the ice chute door on a refrigerator dispenser. It allows the chute door flap to swing open and closed when dispensing ice or water. Replace this pin if the chute door is loose, hanging crooked, or has fallen off, which can cause cold air leaks and frost buildup in the dispenser area.
I ordered the Fountain door kit. I used a screwdriver and #10 Torx. I'm a Jack-of-all-trades, but have never worked on an ice maker before. First, I unplugged the refrigerator. The front panel popped off with ease. Once I got in I could see what needed to be disconnected. All parts fit like a charm, with the exception of the pin-roll. I could not figure out where this was located. The fountain works great. I could not believe how fast the order was received. The same day I ordered, I received... Read more
