Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Several broken tray/drawer pieces needing replacement   David C. • San Diego , CA • January 11, 2018

Used the schematic provided to select the parts needing replacement and placed the order. Parts arrived and swapping new for old was simple. For the most part it was a matter of taking out the old and putting in the new. There were a few screws with wheels to replace but that was easy as well. Before purchase I searched several different sites and found all the parts needed. I compared prices of each item as well as shipping cost. Prices for each item were nearly identical between sites... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker would not dispense ice and chute/container would frost over   Theo S. • Tallahassee , FL • October 01, 2014

When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open. I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video. The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Freezer section not working. Fridge side maintained a 40 degree temp   Richard A. • Cromwell , CT • June 30, 2017

After doing a lot of web searching about the problem. It all came down to AppliancePartsPros.com. Watching the repair videos and learning what to do made the job a breeze. The only difficult problem was to thaw out the ice build up on the coils, which took 2 hours. The rest was easy. now I have a freezer/ fridge that is working like new. The total cost of the parts was less then having a repairman come out to look at it. AppliancePartsPros saved me a lot of money. Thanks! Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Driver auger was spinning freely on motor shaft (threads were stripped)   John K. • Tucson , AZ • November 28, 2016

The auger in ice bucket was frozen and locked in place (some how liquid water must have spilled inside and froze the shaft and bushing). When the motor was activated to deliver ice, the jam caused the motor shaft to strip the threads. With the threads stripped, there is no way (that I could find) to get the drive auger off of the shaft (btw, it is left-hand threaded). Apparently the Drive Auger is made of stainless steel - a harder metal then the motor shaft. To repair it, I removed the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The plastic tube from the valve to the ice maker was broken   Alan K. • Leesburg , VA • May 16, 2015

Thanks to the AppliancePartsPro, I ordered it online and received it quickly. I even used the step by step directions on how to replace the tube from the AppliancePartsPro website. Take a picture of the existing wiring and tubes before you take them apart. 2. *if* you remove the wires ( red and white plugs) from the valve, make sure you plug them back in correctly. 3. Do not pull or push the tubes hard. Use... Read more
