Ice dispenser not working or making noise? The auger helix transports ice from bin to chute. DIY repair takes about 10 minutes with video guidance.
Determined the helix lock was free wheeling on auger helix dispenser not allowing auger to dispense ice properly. Auger also replaced because it had some badly worn areas around the blade assembly. The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting.
