I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. I was very proud of myself, as a woman, that I fixed this problem myself and didnt have to pay a repair... Read more
If your washer agitator spins freely or clothes tangle around it, the splines may be stripped. This center post assembly restores wash action. 15-min DIY.
My wife noticed that our washing machine was making a terrible rumbling noise and seemed to be out of balance all of the time. She was on the verge of calling a repairman when I said I wanted to look at it first. I noticed the agitator was very loose and would spin in your hand. I removed 1 bolt and the agitator was out. The teeth in the agitator were stripped out so by simply ordering a new agitator and installing it I turned a $250.00 repair call into a $70.00 DIY fix. Thanks. Read more
This 1-1/8 in wire retaining ring locks into a groove to secure components in place. It helps prevent parts from sliding off a shaft or shifting out of position so assemblies stay aligned and operate reliably.
Based on recommendation to replace the clutch if clothes aren't spinning dry enough, I ordered a new clutch. Upon disassembly, I observed no Ring Wire/C-Clip and that the bearing appeared worn. Where did the clip go? Well, the bearing wore down such that it wore out the clip and bearing up to the sleeve of the shaft. Knocked out the old bearing, tapped in the new and was done. I disassembled the brake shoes but believe you can get the bearing in and out without doing so. Not a bad job, just... Read more

Leaking from the water inlet connection? This vacuum break prevents backflow and maintains the air gap at the inlet. Easy DIY fix in under 30 minutes.
Removed cover from Whirlpool washer (~20 years old) and found water to be leaking from hose connection at Break Vac. Obviously the hose had to be replaced but the Break Vac looked corroded and partially plugged, too, possibly inhibiting water flow. While the cabinet was off I noticed the Suspension Spring was rusted off so I ordered 1 of those, too. Total of all parts was under $45 so looks like we won't be getting a newer, more efficient washer anytime soon. Everything arrived in 3 days and... Read more

Secures the motor to its mounting point in your laundry center. Replace if the retainer is worn, broken, or has lost tension to prevent motor misalignment.
Replaced with new retainer clips and new capacitor to fix future problems Read more
This retainer ring is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on front load washing machines to hold the boot seal in place. The boot seal is the gasket that seals the washing machine when the door is closed to prevent water from leaking. The retainer ring is located flush against the boot seal and has either a spring clamp or screw clamp that secures it. Over time, this ring may become damaged due to the washing machine's normal use and age. If the ring is not tight, the washing machine could leak when in use. If water is coming from the door, it is a good idea to inspect and replace the retainer ring and possibly the boot as well.Unplug the washing machine to prevent electrocution. Remove the front panel, the detergent dispenser, and the kickplate to access the retainer ring. Locate the clamp on the ring and loosen it. Remove the retainer ring and set it to the side. Inspect the boot and then install the new retainer ring. Tighten the clamp and reassemble the washing machine. This retainer ring is sold as an individual unit. It is designed specifically for washing machines manufactured by Whirlpool.

Color: White with a chrome center. For black order WP3362624. Washing machine timer knob. Improved design with metal threads.
I noticed that the inside part of the timer knob was made of plastic. I searched the internet for a replacement knob. I came across AppliancePartsPros.com. I saw a knob similar to the one I needed but I didn't know if it would be an exact fit. I took a chance and ordered it on a Friday afternoon. To my surprise, it was delivered to me Saturday afternoon. I screwed the knob on my washer -- it was a perfect fit and the inside part of the timer knob is made of metal (I won't have to worry... Agitator won't move or slips during wash? A worn drive shaft causes weak agitation. This shaft transfers motion from the gearcase to restore firm engagement.
I had to replace the drive shaft and the lower agitator. The motor coupling was also worn out. The repair was challenging because I had to rebuild the gear box. This step was really messy and I had to wait for the liquid gasket to set prior to completing the repair. Cleaning and prep of all of the parts tripled the repair time. Read more
