This small plastic or rubber piece prevents the refrigerator door from opening too far and hitting nearby walls or cabinets. It mounts to the door or cabinet frame to provide a stopping point for safe door operation. Replace if the door swings too wide, hits obstacles, or if you need to control the door opening angle.
The ice tray would not operate properly because the ice maker support was broken. I found the support I needed on Appliance Parts Pros site, then I watched their video on how to remove the support / ice tray from the fridge. Following the video I replaced the support and ice tray then put the assembly back into the fridge and "wallah" started making ice.
