I replaced the temperature sensor, the thermo fuse, and the heating element that thaws the evaporator on a cycle to keep the evaporator from freezing up. The most time consuming part of the repair was waiting for the fridge to thaw out so that I could remove the cover. I disconnected the fridge the night before and placed a fan on low with the doors open so that it was thawed out when I awoke. Replace water filter case AP5781884 (DA81 05886A) Refrigerator is only 3 years old, so the noise when using the water dispenser or when the ice maker filled was very disappointing and annoying. This repair required removing the rear bottom panel to access the water filter case tubing, removing the bottom drawer in the refrigerator side to access and remove the case (1 screw holds this in), and the bottom front grill to access the 2 connectors for the tubing from the case to the freezer side... Removed refrigerator panel, disconnected light and fan power. Removed fan assembly and replaced motor, grommets and fan attachment spring. Unit had adhesive on spring to help hold the spring. Chatted with customer service and clarified that spring and fan would easily pull off motor shaft. Adhesive probably was extra measure used during original build of the fridge.
