Missing plastic clip on lid switch was the problem. Replaced plastic clip, washer operates good as new. Pliers are needed to seat the plastic piece securely onto the lid switch. Read more

A few comments: 1) On my model, there was no wiring harness to unhook to detach the lid switch, as was shown on the video. Instead, I had to remove the switch itself. Underneath, one of the short edges of the switch has a clip that you depress, and then you can poke the switch up. We were taping our broken tub ring so it could at least last for a couple of more washes but no the water would come out and the washer would start to bounce! Wife calls - it's broke. Home from work, immediately suspected clutch, V-belt or similar. Could hear the motor running. Founda video on youtube showing how to remove front panel. Looked. Sure enough, motor runs - nothing else turns. Figured the clutch was fragged. Order new clutch. When it arrives, pull the old one off. Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new.
