OK kids, pay attention! This was my second attempt @ this repair. My first repair started leaking right away and had to be re-done about 6 months later. HERE IS THE PROBLEM!. In the video, you'll notice that (while putting it back together) when you put the square hole washer and split-ring over the shaft, they look to land atop the rubber seal, buy when you do this in real life, there is a gap between the seal and the washer. Wire tie retainer for refrigerators. Secures and organizes internal wiring. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to keep wires properly bundled.
The Wire Tie is an OEM part for GE dryers. It is used to secure and organize internal wiring, ensuring that wires remain properly positioned and do not interfere with the operation of the dryer. This part plays an important role in preventing wires from becoming tangled, pinched, or damaged during the dryer’s cycles.
Over time, the wire tie can become worn out, broken, or damaged due to prolonged exposure to heat, vibrations, or wear from normal use. A compromised wire tie can lead to loose or unsecured wiring, which may impact the performance of the dryer or cause electrical issues.
Symptoms of a bad Dryer Wire Tie include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Opened up the washer to see where the smoke was coming from. The culprit was a black cylinder with 2 wires running to it. After enough googling I figured out it was a capacitor for the motor. Searched the washer model number & "capacitor", AppliancePartsPros.com was one of the first results. They made it very easy to find the right part and even verified that it would work with my model. There was even a step-by-step tutorial video showing how to replace the capacitor on the page. Part arrived... Read more

Replaced the Coupling Pulsator, and the Pulsator (short spindle in the center of the washer). The only problem that I encountered was how to remove the short spindle in the center of the washer...my fabric softer is in the center and you need to open that, grab the middle and loosen by turning left. Once that is out you will use a 7/16th socket and remove the entire agitator. Most of the videos show that you pull that straight up to remove - not the short one. There is still a screw to remove.... Read more
