Microwave won't turn on or is completely dead? A blown fuse is often the cause. This safety fuse protects against power surges. Easy 5-minute DIY fix.
I read on line about other such ovens doing the same thing mine was doing, absolutely nothing! I even read stories of a major retailer telling customers to throw the microwave away. There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. The shipping cost more than the part, but it was all very worthwhile. Read more

Microwave not heating? A failed diode prevents the magnetron from generating heat. This high-voltage component converts AC to DC power. DIY repair.
14 year old GE Profile microwave wouldn't heat, but had power. Read reviews here. Ordered triumvirate of magnetron, capacitor, & diode. Was hoping not to need the capacitor as this was an expensive part; and if not needed to return to AppliancePartsPros, which has been SOP. After watching a couple YouTube videos of microwave capacitors being shorted, I made a capacitor discharge tool ordering 24W 100K Ohm resistor and high voltage test wires w/ alligator clips from amazon. At the same time,... Read more

Microwave completely dead or showing F1 error code? This oven cavity thermal cutoff sensor prevents overheating. Moderate DIY repair, test with multimeter.
GE Microwave/Convection Oven. Removed case (carefully). Tested in-line power cord fuse with multi-meter. Fuse was good. Noticed a scorch mark on a wire connected to the oven cavity thermal fuse. The fuse appeared to have been overheated from too much movement in it's mount. Removed part from unit and used number on the part to order a new one. Installed new part, re-assembled, and unit works fine. Read more
Restores bright illumination to your cooktop surface light. Replace when bulb burns out or dims to maintain safe visibility while cooking. Confirm fit.
Had to remove all three food drawers and the back panel behind the drawers (4 screws). The water tank comes with the associated tubing which would typically require access to the back of the fridge to run the new lines. Instead I clipped the existing lines inside the fridge. Then I clipped the lines off the new tank so they would line up with the old lines. I then used a 5/16" OD compression coupling (Lowes or Home Depot) to connect the ends of the tubing together. The joined tubes are... Read more

Replace your burned-out microwave halogen bulb to restore clear lighting inside the cavity or over the cooktop. Confirm fit with your model number.
AppliancePartsPros helped me find the model and serial number which led to the part number for the bulb. APP.com was $15 each from GE (I'm thinking they have made some effort to determine that it really is a GE part) vs. $1.40 and up from all the Usual Suspects on the web. Shipping was $6 so I bought 2 bulbs -- each a tiny glass envelope with two pins sticking out. I tucked a large towel around, beside and in back of the stove top so that when I dropped the bulb, it wouldn't drop behind or... Read more
