The Float is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. This float senses water levels inside the dishwasher, signaling the inlet valve to refill when needed.
Causes of a float malfunctioning can be mineral deposits accumulating and weighing it down over time, or cracks in the plastic housing allowing water in.

Wax motor for detergent/rinse-aid dispenser.
Took door off, saw that dispenser linkage was ok, I could open and close by hand, so figured the wax motor or the wiring to it were most likely the problem. I took off the wax motor ( actuator) and ran 120 volts to it via jumper wires, and it did not move at all, so figured good chance that was the problem. This is a trim strip that attaches along the lower portion of the dishwasher door. It helps seal the door edge and provides a finished appearance to the front panel. Replace this piece if it is cracked, warped, or missing, which can lead to water leaks around the bottom of the door during wash cycles.
One of the side trim strips was folded over on itself, which made latching the door difficult. It was an easy fix: used a Torx screwdriver to remove 2 screws on each side, and just replaced it on each side.
