The parts arrived in short time. Had to go to YouTube to learn how to get the door off. My range is about 2004 model. The YouTube video I found did not represent my installation but gave me enough information to remove the clip so the hinge could come free. This is the resistive coil heating element that generates heat inside the dryer drum to dry clothes. It is rated at 208 volts, which is commonly found in apartment or commercial installations rather than the standard 240-volt residential supply. Replace this element if the dryer runs but produces no heat, takes excessively long to dry clothes, or if the coil is visibly broken or damaged.
I took the front of the dryer off and after a few tests for continuity, I discovered the heating element had completely broken apart. I ordered the element to restring it into the housing. It was easy to do and took about 30 minutes to do. Read more
