A hi-limit safety switch that stops heating when temperatures get too high, protecting the appliance from overheating and helping prevent damage. Designed to replace a failed thermal cutoff to restore safe temperature control. What it does:
Started with checking temp control in the oven. Worked fine. Next was testing high limiter switch. Every place stated switch was on the back panel, found mine place under the right burner cartridge. Took some finagling to expose it. Bought a new one, two wires to disconnect along with two small screws to secure switch, slapped it in and I was in business. Great web site. Easy to find part required. Great price. Video on how to install was too generic to be helpful but found good videos on YouTube. Used the 800 number and talked to a technician. He was terrific. Accurate in his assessment, encouraging and delivered. Local appliance repair guy wanted $550 to do the job and couldn't get here for two weeks. I did it for the cost of the board which was $300. Read more

I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Wired it back, turned it on, and was thrilled. Now I'll replace the knobs and burners and we're back in business. Read more
