This is a screw intended for use in refrigerators, specifically as the top mounting screw for the handle. If the screw in the handle is missing, stripped, or otherwise not performing its function, a replacement screw should be ordered.A visual inspection will determine if a screw is missing. When the adapter arrived, I wasn't sure it was the right one as it looked completely different. This was a very easy repair, the on-line video at AppliancePartsPros.com was helpful. The Helix was spinning freely (meaning, the Auger Blade was not holding it in place on the Auger). Pulling the assembly apart was a snap, and very logical (the video is perfect if you get lost). The family is now enjoying both crushed and cubed ice - and the redesign of the Auger Blade seems to prevent clogging in the ice shoot. Read more
