I emptied door shelves and used plastic sheet to close off refrigerator. The repair was done with refrigerator running. I removed door and changed riser cam and shim. Then replaced door. It took maybe 45 minutes from start to finish. If I did the job again it would be completed in 30 minutes or less. The videos are informative. Thank You Read more

Ok so my mom called GE and a service man came out. He said no good. The refrigerator was to old to be fixed. At first, because there was not any visible means of attaching the handle either on the front or inside of the refrigerator door, I thought the door may need to be replaced. This replacement part is a handle bar, and it is intended for use in different types of appliances. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. Each refrigerator typically has two handle bars which allow the user to open and closed the doors effectively and efficiently. A new handle bar might be needed if the current one is unable to stay connected to the door of the appliance.
