Rubber grommet seals the ice maker fill tube where it enters the refrigerator cabinet. Replace if cracked, brittle, leaking, or missing to restore seal.
Replaced original (18 yrs.) 1/4" plastic tubing, clamp and grommet (AppliancePartsPros/GE parts) from outlet of ice maker water control valve to ice maker inlet. Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends. Refrigerator won't cool and compressor just clicks or hums? The start relay helps the compressor motor start. Moderate DIY repair, clean coils first.
I researched the problem and determined that the only thing that can cause this was compressor bad or not starting. Since it was cold the day before I felt it had to be the starter parts and ordered them. It was also very important to clean the coil which I believe caused the over heating. Read more
