I replaced the thermostat switch first, which helped, but sometimes the unit would not start, even after power down for 15 minutes. I inspected the evaporator, and it showed no signs of icing. Cleared the dust from the coils. Replaced the run capacitor (and also the start device assembly.) This fixed the problem and now unit cycles as expected. This is a rubber gasket that seals the connection between the water fill tube and the ice maker assembly inside the freezer compartment.
