I replaced it with a new seal/gasket and insert cover using the video repair clip as a guide from “appliancepartspros.com”. The repair took about 45 minutes using common tools like Phillip and Straight Slot Screw Drivers. A little muscle is required to clip the seal ring because it is spring tensioned. I think it was leaking both from the front and the bottom somehow. The boot seal was pretty cruddy anyways so I figured even if it was wrong, it was time to replace. You basically had to take the entire washing machine top and front off. This takes a little bit of time and organization but is relatively easy.
