First watched a Youtube video and then replaced the module assembly. LG made the replacement of this module assembly very easy. Read more
The problem landed up being the filter assembly, it's the part that the electrical cord runs & I imagine converts the voltage to the washer, I don't know why it's called the filter assembly. But it worked. Read more
While I was replacing springs I decided to replace the gasket since I couldn't clean it anymore. Unfortunately that was on back order so I can't fix it just yet. I have taken this LG machine apart already and it is easy to work on. I love all the videos online that go step by step. This repair is simple. I had a difficult time with the spring around the gasket. I think the tool for getting that back on may be worth the $. I would hate to damage the gasket getting the new one on. I... Read more
This printed circuit board, otherwise known as a PCB, is an electrical component found in washing machines. The function of a PCB is to house all of the electrical parts for the washing machine operation. A good way to think of a PCB is that it's the brain of the appliance. Almost every function of the washing machine is controlled by this part. The PCB could become damaged if water has access to it and it shorts out. If the washing machine is not functioning, it is possible that the PCB could be bad. However, it's important to properly diagnose the issue at hand to ensure the correct parts are ordered to fix the problem. This part is sold individually. It's a genuine OEM part that comes straight from the manufacturer. This specific PCB is compatible with washing machines that are manufactured by LG.
Troubleshooting process: Verify 120V to machine, verify 120V output from noise filter, verify 120V into main power board (PCB). Main power board LED not on. This says board is bad. To remove board remove a couple of the closest wiring harness tie downs, this will allow you to remove the connectors from the board a little more easily. TAKE PICTURES BEFORE to insure all goes back together the same. Though the connectors cannot be plugged into the wrong spots as they are all different, pictures... Read more
I opted to save myself about $600 by repairing my 8 year old LG washing machine rather than buying a new one. After watching some videos I determined what I needed upon taking my washing machine apart. I ended up replacing the tub (includes spider and shaft), since I could not get the spider part removed from the original tub, as well as the motor bolt (which had broken when I removed it from the original tub's shaft). The spider was cracked and the shaft was wobbling which caused it to... Read more
I just wanted to say thank you for the helpful and informative video. It gave me the confidence to fix the bearing issue with my 5 year old LG washer. Although my washer is a different model than the one used in the video, it still gave me the overall view on “How To” approach the repair and what items and materials were required. The only thing that I would highly recommend is that the spider bracket, although it may appear to be good, should to be replaced. It is one of the backbones of... Read more
I followed the video that was posted on your website, very informative and easy to follow. Only problem was, was the drum and bearings refused to separate, even after a week of applying rust buster and using a 5 lb sledge hammer and 2x4 wood. Spoke with one of your exceedingly helpful assistants on the phone and he gave me the only other option was to replace the rear drum assembly and the inner drum. So easy!! It's back together and running! I now can revel in clean laundry! I only have... Read more
