Mounting screw for refrigerator ice maker assembly. Secures components to maintain structural integrity. Replace if lost, stripped, or corroded.
Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The most irritating part was figuring out what parts to order. The drawing of the refrigerator door (Drawing # 4) used to figure out what parts to order was not clear. I paid $8... Read more

I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered. The video online was easy to follow and this... Read more

Fix a washer that won't spin or agitate. This motor capacitor stores energy to start and run the motor. DIY repair takes about 10 minutes with video help.
Washer would run through the cycle, but not agitate. I had to wait for it to pump down the water level to check spin, which also was not working. The motor would buzz when it should run, but not rotate, hard to hear for spin because the pump was running. Found I could start it by hand very easily by giving the pulley a spin, so I figured start switch, but there didn't appear to be one. I found what looked like a start capacitor zip tied to the chassis midway up the front, so my second guess was... Read more
Replace your washer's control panel button if it's cracked, broken, or missing. This snap-in component installs on the control panel face plate.
All I had to do was remove 3, 1/4" screws from the back and take the front off. Two 5/16th screws hold the circuit board in place, remove them and press the button into the hole from the back. Replace the circuit board, slide the front back on and install the three 1/4" screws. Always unplug the washer first! Read more
Drain pump inlet hose for top-load washers. Connects the tub to the pump assembly. Replace if cracked, leaking, or has holes causing water on the floor.
The video was very helpful. the hardest part is getting off old rusted parts. I had to use a hacksaw to remove one of the old clamps. I had to open the bottom of the washing machine to remove of the other clamp. Putting the new parts on was easy. Getting everything apart was a challenge. Replaced Case Water Filter assembly DA81-05883A. Please read my post entirely before starting. I completed all the tasks that I could without having to disconnect the refrigerator since it was full of food. First I removed the panel on top of the refrigerator that covers the water line that feeds the dispenser. Do not disconnect any electrical connections or the water line at this time. Remove the panel from the back bottom of the refrigerator that covers the compressor and water valve,... Read more
Houses the replaceable water filter cartridge for your refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser. Replace if filters won't seat properly, water leaks from housing, or flow is restricted. Verify fit by model number.
I replaced the water filter housing assembly. It was simple to do since your site provided the how-to video. The only snag I ran into was that I had a hard time re-positioning the foam brace under the filter. The space is tight. Would have been easier if I had smaller hands. The whole process took about 10 minutes. Would have been faster but that foam piece took a while. Side note, my fridge didn't have the retaining clips shown in your video. Now my water/ice dispenser works as it... Read more

Fabric softener not dispensing or agitator loose? This washer dispenser cup sits atop the agitator. Simple DIY fix—twist off and replace in minutes.
Planning to spend hundreds on a new washer and was pleased to discover the agitator coupling was the only thing wrong. Very easy repair. The only additional feature we would have liked was a softener dispenser. Located a GE model of the same genre that used the same coupler and took the leap to get the agitator and dispenser cup for this model (WJRR4170). Replaced the old agitator with new one and dispenser cup. Worked perfectly! We now have a washer with dispenser that works great and saved... Read more
Freezer icing up or frost building on coils? The defrost heater melts ice from evaporator coils. Moderately difficult repair, about 1 hour install time.
Fridge keept building up ice in defrost drain drain in freezer. Once the drain pan filled with ice it drips into fridge compartment. After taking things apart three times to thaw it out, decided to replace defrost components - heater and temperature switch. In addition to new parts, also added a 12 gauge copper wire hook that hangs from defrost heater into the defrost drain. After this, the defrost cycle is running as expected, but will not know if the issue is corrected until a year or so... Read more
Water leaking from bottom of fridge? Cracked evaporator drip tray lets defrost water escape. Moderate DIY repair, about 45-60 minutes with our guide.
The drain pan (Tray-Evaporator Pan) was cracked in 2 places. We had to remove the front panel. Loosen the bracket that holds the water filter. Take off the back panel and disconnect the bracket that holds the selenoid. It was not necessary to unhook the water lines, just the bracket. It was not easy to remove the old pan and get the new one in, but holding the water filter, with the bracket intact, as far to the left side of the refrigerator as possible gave us the room to get the pan in. ...
