Cooktop Gasket (Edge Trim)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP9780939

This cooktop gasket seals the gap between the cooktop and countertop to help prevent spills and moisture from entering the cabinet while restoring a secure fit and finished appearance. Ideal when the original edge seal is worn or missing. What it does:

  • Seals the cooktop edge to keep liquids and crumbs from getting under the appliance — symptoms: visible gaps, pooling liquids, or debris under the cooktop.
  • Cushions and stabilizes the cooktop to reduce vibration and rattling during use — symptoms: shifting or noisy cooktop.
  • Protects countertop and cabinetry from heat, spills, and food buildup that can cause staining or damage — symptoms: discolored or damaged counter edges.
  • Restores fit and finish for a clean, professional appearance — symptoms: loose or uneven cooktop edges.
What's included: One cooktop gasket. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (and gas, if applicable) and allow the cooktop to cool before starting work.
  • Remove the old gasket and thoroughly clean and dry the mating surfaces before installing the new gasket.
  • Press the new gasket into place along the cooktop edge; trim excess material as needed without overstretching.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken glass stovetop   Richard N. • Sumner , WA • May 02, 2016

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Infinite switch would work only sometimes sometimes the burner would not shut off at all you could tell when turning the dial it did not seem right   Steven C. • Brighton , CO • November 10, 2015

The new switch was a little different than the old one. Following the instructions made it easy on which wire when where. First unplugged the oven then I took out the long light bulb on the very top then took out the 2 screws under the bulb. Second take out one screw on the top left side. Next pull the control panel up and out, laying it on the stove top. I took a picture of the wiring of the back of the switch just in case I needed to refer back to it. Moved each wire to the new switch using... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bad terminal block and damaged power cord   Bryan M. • Houghton , NY • February 29, 2016

My stove stopped working on a Wednesday. Wednesday evening around 9:00 PM EST I ordered the parts for repair and did not pay extra for shipping as I expected them to arrive on Monday regardless. My parts were delivered Friday morning and the stove was repaired by noon on Friday. I was shocked at the quick delivery. Read more

Bake Element
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP9750213

The Bake Heating Element is an OEM Replacement Part for Whirlpool ovens, designed with push-on terminals. It measures 14-5/8" from the front to the mounting bracket, 19" in width, and 2-1/2" from the mounting bracket to the terminal end. The mounting holes on the bracket are spaced 1-7/8" apart, center to center. The terminals are designed as 1/4" male spades and the unit is rated for 2500 Watts at 240 Volts.

Causes of a bad bake element may include repeated heating and cooling cycles over time, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage from impact or exposure to spills.

Symptoms of a faulty bake element include:

  • Oven not heating up properly or taking an excessive amount of time to preheat
  • Hot or cold spots within the oven cavity, leading to uneven baking
  • Visible damage or discoloration to the bake element itself
  • Popping or sparking noises coming from the element area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Oven not heating evenly
  • Little to no heat when baking

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our oven was turning out underdone baked goods.   Jack H. • Jonesborough , TN • April 03, 2021

The stove is about 19 years old. We had a difficult time getting baked goods to be cooked on the inside as well as outside (bundt cakes especially). I replaced the oven temperature sensor probe, used a digital oven thermometer (as well as the older type) to measure the oven temp. The older, dial thermometer hit and pretty much stayed at the set 350 deg F. The digital one showed a plus/minus 20-degree fluctuation and all seems well. We haven't baked a bundt cake to test, yet, but we will... Read more
