Rather than replacing the whole ignition switch harness, I cut out the broken switch and replaced it with Burner Ignition Switch WB24K10017 / AP2632529. Wire stripper, small wire nuts, and electrical tape were also used. At first, the new switch was constantly on when the knob was in the off position. The gas valve shaft has a "U" shape. Simple. Just pulled out the old and popped in the new. Rangetop looks much better, though grates and burner rings (no longer available) could use repainting with heat resistant enamel or some other treatment. Read more

Determined that the LF infinite control switch contacts for the burner indicator light were stuck closed. I replaced the control as well as the knob as the knob felt loose on the control. Read more

What you will need: * replacement parts * small and regular Phillips screwdrivers * small wrench * soapy water in a spray bottle or leak detection spray Take apart the top of the stove control unit 1) turn off the gas to the stove, in my case I cannot get to the shutoff valve easily so I ended up turning off the electricity to the stove at the fuse box as that forces an emergency shutdown of the gas supply internally of the stove. 2) remove all 5 knobs, the grates at the top and open the oven... Easy fix, removed broken knob put new knob on. Quick service but almost didn't see package with knob inside it. Who ever dropped it off at my door either put it next to my propane tank along side of my house or the wind blew it there. A white bag in snow next to a white tank, doesn't make a good area to leave package! Read more
