Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11050715
This replacement switch restores reliable on/off signaling to the circuit it controls, helping your appliance start, stop, and respond correctly. A worn switch can cause intermittent operation, no response, or lights and functions that don't activate. What it does:
- Provides an electrical open/closed signal to enable functions like starting a cycle, powering a motor or light, or shutting a feature off
- Acts as a safety/position interlock (such as door, lid, float, or hood) depending on the model
- Typical symptoms include won't start, won't stop, light won't turn on/off, or intermittent operation
- Can be checked with a multimeter for continuity when actuated
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; turn off gas or water supply if applicable
- Access the switch, note wire locations, and transfer leads one at a time to the new switch
- Mount securely, ensure the actuator aligns and wires aren't pinched
- Reassemble and test operation before finalizing

Faulty self cleaning latch Gregory K. • Bel Air , MD • December 28, 2016
Replaced faulty latch with new latch. New latch was different configuration, but the fit was okay. The only issue was that the wires to the electric motor were just barely long enough.
Overall easy repair if you have a T15 Torx bit, phillips screwdriver, and 1/4" nut driver. Hardest part is removing the gas cooktop to gain access to the cleaning latch. 0. Turn off electric to stove; remove the cast iron grates, center caps/orifices, and catch pans from the stovetop. 1. Disconnect the...

This limit switch monitors a set condition and opens or closes its contacts when that limit is reached. Replacing a failed switch restores proper safety cutoff and consistent operation of the appliance's heating or movement system. What it does:
- Senses a limit condition at its mounting point (such as temperature or travel/position, depending on model)
- Changes state at a defined threshold to protect components and wiring
- Interrupts power to heat or motor circuits, or signals a control to respond
- Common failure signs: no heat or shuts down early, runs continuously, won't start, or intermittent operation
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing
- Note wire positions; transfer connectors one at a time or take a photo for reference
- Reinstall in the original orientation so the actuator or sensing surface contacts the correct area
- Address root causes (blocked airflow, binding mechanisms, shorted components) to prevent repeat failures

We actually were able to determine that one of the freezer switches was bad and taped it down for about 3 days. The beeping stopped. Our fridge has two freezer switches and one fridge side switch. I ordered all three from these guys. They were cheaper than Whirlpool by about $20 for parts and about $15 for shipping. I unscrewed the 3 Phillips screws on the back of the dryer controls housing, then it folds forward for access to each control switch. the old one popped out, and I swapped the wires using a needle nose pliers, one by one, from the old switch to the new switch. The part was an exact fit, and popped right back into the housing. I screwed the 3 screws back in, pushed on the new knob, and it looks and works like new !
