Downloaded the Frigidaire Service Manual for Electric 5.8 cubic foot dryer from the ApplicanePartsPro.com forum. Used its information to check for error codes. None display. Ran the function test sequence. All the tests OK. Used a mutli-meter to check the circuit to the moisture sensor bars inside the door. • Timer will not advance

My dryer would only start (and keep running) after a lot of fiddling with the timer to find a position that "worked." The machine wouldn't turn on when the timer was set in the dry-sensor region, and eventually, it stayed running only when we pressed the timer button. As soon as the pressure was off, the dryer stopped. Clearly that wasn't sustainable. This issue was with a refrigerator that we acquired with a house we bought. The freezer was cold, making ice well, overall doing great. The refrigerator was not cold however. Ordered the part (surprised it was even available after such a long time). It took my wife and myself to figure out the how to do the replacement..since there were no specific instructions. We discoved it along the way and did not break anything else. Took about 15 to 20 minutes to get it done. We would have been spending $700 to replace the dishwasher had the part not been available. 1. Purchased a new Facade. The removal of the old one was relatively easy except that the two screws that hold it in place (behind the spill tray) were rusted (they should have used stainless steel ones) one came out with a vise grip but on the other I had to buy an "Easy Out" tool from Home Depot, once out the unit drops down. Had my wife hold the new unit, swiped the wires from old to new, removed the control board from the old one and installed it on the new one with one screw and cleaned... Read more

Order a new defrost timer from ApplianceParts online. I received the parts in a couple of days, installed it and that completely fixed the problem.
