Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ge double wall oven   Marcelo A. • Parkland , FL • September 18, 2015

Oven Thermal Fuse
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP4451354

Oven won't heat after self-clean? This thermal fuse protects your oven from overheating. Replacement takes about 1 hour with basic tools. Video guide included.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our son tried to do us a favor by using the selfclean feature on our oven while we were out of town this caused one or more internal fuses to blow   Daniel A. • Magnolia , TX • May 13, 2017

Not sure which fuse might be bad, I ordered all three. The oven is almost twenty years old, so I figured it couldn't hurt to replace them all. The breakers marked oven were tripped, so we figured everything was off. Wrong! The 220 and the 120 are separate breakers. We found this out the old fashioned way, we got shocked. Anyway, the fix is pretty simple. Take off decorative trim. Only one screw on each side holds it on. Remove four screws securing oven to cabinet, and slide oven out. Our oven... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The freezer was working but the refrigerator wasn't cooling   Steve H. • Hamilton , OH • October 10, 2016

The refrigerator is on top and freezer on the bottom. First I cleaned the access cover in the rear of the unit but this didn't fix the problem. I removed the ice maker and panel inside the freezer. The coil was frozen solid. I took off the defrost thermostat and check the continuity and it failed this test. After ordering the new part I installed it and put everything back together. Thermistor (Temperature Sensor)
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 6322W2A001A

Thermistor is a temperature-sensing replacement that monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures so the control board can regulate cooling. Replacing a faulty thermistor restores accurate temperature readings and helps stabilize cooling performance. What it does:

  • Senses interior/evaporator temperature and sends a signal to the control board for temperature regulation.
  • Helps prevent erratic cooling, long run-times, or inconsistent compartment temperatures when operating correctly.
  • Faulty thermistors can contribute to excessive frost, failed defrost cycles, or compressor cycling issues.
  • Use when the existing sensor fails to report correct temperatures or the part number matches.
What's included: One thermistor sensor. Install notes:
  • Always disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock or damage.
  • The sensor is typically mounted on or near the evaporator or inside a cabinet wall; access may require removing panels or covers.
  • Handle the sensor and wiring harness gently; avoid pulling on wires or bending the sensor element.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave would not microwave   Richard E. • Cape Coral , FL • January 05, 2020

Replaced the Humidity sensor, Thermistor and door switches. I replaced these thinking the problem was one of the items but didn't want to trial and error one part at a time. Plus the cost was reasonable so if these didn't help I wasn't out a lot of money. I sense the door switch was the problem. Replaced all items and the microwave works great. Fuse
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool

This protective fuse safeguards the appliance's electrical circuit. When an overcurrent or short occurs, it opens the circuit to cut power and help prevent damage. Replacing a blown fuse can restore power once the underlying issue is corrected.

  • Opens the circuit when current exceeds its design limit or a short is detected
  • Helps protect control and other internal components from electrical damage
  • Typical symptoms of a failed fuse include no power, dead display/controls, won't start, or immediate power loss
  • An underlying electrical fault is likely present and should be diagnosed
What's included: 1 fuse Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance before servicing
  • Replace only with the exact type and rating specified for your model; never bypass or upsize a fuse
  • Inspect wiring and components for the root cause of the blown fuse before restoring power
  • If servicing a microwave, follow the service manual and discharge the high-voltage capacitor; consider service due to shock risk
