When the adapter arrived, I wasn't sure it was the right one as it looked completely different. The fridge is old, and I inherited it when I moved in 4 years ago and it hadn't been replaced since I wasn't aware it needed changing. I inserted the adapter into the new filter, aligned the arrow on the filter to the one on the fridge panel and turned the filter accordingly and it seemed to fit fine.
