BURNER HEATS UP NORMALLY, BUT I DON'T KNOW YET IF IT WILL SUDDENLY GO TO THE HIGH SETTING. IT WAS A SPORADIC PROBLEM I WAS HAVING...SO I'M HOPING THIS SOLVES THE ISSUE. The Surface Element is an OEM part for Frigidaire electric ranges and cooktops. It is the individual electric coil located beneath the cooktop that provides heat.
The surface element heats up rapidly upon activation in order to boil, simmer or saute foods efficiently. Its precise heating capabilities assist home cooks in meal preparation.
Causes can be mineral deposits caked onto the element surface over time reducing its ability to transfer heat properly. Excess moisture exposure can also damage internal wiring.

Searched the internet for a replacement and ordered it from APP and it arrived quickly. Removed three screws holding the original heating element in and disconnected the spade connectors and pulled out the old element. The spade connectors were a bit loose, so I tightened them up with a pair of pliers and re-installed the new element. Oven works great now.
