OK this is one of those stories that can't help but encourage those of us who have absolutely no idea how appliances work and yet by simply refusing to pay such ridiculous repair prices can honestly get it done with a "FRACTION" of the cost. • Door latch failure

I removed the wire and rubber seal in order to get to the door lacth then I unscrewed the three screws popped out the latch put the screws and the rubber and wire back and tested the washer. The door now locks and I can wash again...YEPPPPY Read more

• Door won't close

I chatted with a rep on Appliance Parts Pros and found out which parts I needed for my model of dryer. Ordered the 2 clips that held the door closed. They arrived the next day!! My dryer was very different than the video but we were able to figure out which screws to remove. The old clips popped out and the new ones popped in. Took about 30 minutes because of there being a top and bottom clip to remove and replace and line up the door parts to screw the screws back in. It works great!! I... Read more

Ordered the striker latch, it arrieved in two days, I removed the two screws holding the broken latch and installed the new latch, then put the two screws back in. Wam Bam, it was fixed, it was easy. Read more

I originally called a local repair company. After waiting a week they told me they were unable to get the part and that it was back ordered!! I asked them to give me the part numbers...at which point he said..."you won't find them"! I went on line, found the parts with AppliancePartsPros, talked live chat to make sure I could get them and had them the next day!!! I then had the previous company come and install...for free!!!!! In the past we’ve fixed the latch with just high speed great. This time we ordered a new latch and replaced it. Washing machine has been working perfectly ever since. It was very easy to find the right part by simply entering the model number of my washing machine. It was quick delivery and the correct part. Very happy to have a working washing machine again. Replaced door lock. It required removing the two screws around the lock, pulling the spring hoop wire from around the door gasket, and then disconnecting the two wire terminals from the lock. Reverse with the new part. After cracking open the old lock the failure was caused by a thin plastic tab breaking off. I also bought the door switch since it's cheap - just in case the problem was not the lock. But the door lock was the fix. Read more

We have had this dryer since we bought the house 10 years ago and the thought of buying something new, that wasn't made as well was a dreaded thought. Disconnect existing part and connect new one. Disconnect involved removing back cover around lock and electrical connector. Also had to remove rubber gasket. Read more

• Door won't close

Knowing that several things could be causing the noise, I ordered parts to cover all possibilities; once I got inside the dryer, I found the Idler Arm and Idler Pulley were worn and loose; replaced them and the Tumbler Bearings; the dryer now runs quiet again. Was going to replace the Drive Belt but believe it to be the wrong model, it was narrower and had 4 ribs whereas the old one seems to be OK and I believe has 5 ribs. The Drum Rollers and Shafts were OK Also replaced the Door Latch. Read more

My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch. I was afraid that when I pulled the strike out, it would damage the catch, so I ordered the door strike and door catch. I got the damaged door strike out with needle nosed pliers in about 15 seconds. The door catch was in perfect condition so I didn't need to use the one I ordered. So then I proceeded to install the new door strike. Ordered a new clip and installed it. Easy to do. Unplugged the dryer. Removed the front. It is only held on by two screws. Removed wires to the door switch. removed the female end (it had the broken male piece in it. Inserted the new female part in the front, clipped in the male part into the door and reconnected the door switch wires, screwed the front back on. Job done. Total time was less than 10 minutes.
