If your dishwasher won't start or suddenly stopped working, a blown thermal fuse is often the cause. This safety part protects against overheating.
I ordered a "Thermal Fuse" for a Whirlpool dishwasher. The part didn't fit in the old slot, nor did the tabs fit perfectly in the electrical connections, but it was the best I could find. I suppose the machine is too old to have current repair parts. But, it made the dishwasher work. The fuse is now hanging outside the control panel cover, connected, and working just fine. Read more

When I removed the old sensor, the insulation on the leads was frayed, so I thought I had picked the right part to replace. 2 days later the error codes popped up again. A new clue this time. The error code came up immediately when turning the oven on, before any heating had taken place. When we tried to clear the error code, it stayed on. After studying the schematic & tech info sheet, I decided it had to be the run-away over-temp limit switch. A... Read more

This is a humidity sensor mounted inside the microwave that detects moisture levels in the cooking cavity. It enables auto-cook and auto-reheat functions by signaling the control board when food has released enough steam. Replace this sensor if auto-cook cycles consistently overcook or undercook food, or if the microwave displays a sensor error code.
