Difficult Screw Tape Start Tool Parts

The screw that holds the agitator in place appeared to have worn and rusty threads. I tried to replace it with a standard hardware store 1/4-20 hex head screw but that wouldn't grip. I had thoughts of needing to tap the hole,but eventually bought the specified screw, which is a specialist. It has tapered threads, a shoulder, rubber bushings, an attached washer and a hex head. My 10 year old frig door was hanging down to the point it wasnt fully closing and sealing unless you picked up on it. I ordered a lower hinge bracket, upper and lower bearing, and spacer. This particular model GE Profile series has the fiberglass gasket on the door mounted with spring clips made into the gasket. With needle nose pliers I gently squeeze the spring clips together to remove. Repeated process around. I installed new gasket be simply pushing new tabs in place. Tuck loose ends of gasket into holes in door bottom. Very easy repair. Took me less than 10 minutes. Read more

WE replaced the drain pump and it still wouldn't drain sometimes. Finally we realized that the drain hose wasn't the correct bosch hose and the rubber was starting to bend and kink where it went through the hole to under the sink.So we bought the drain hose and replaced. Read more

The purchased crisper cover lacks the printed pictures and text that was present on the front of the original, but it was no big deal. The difficult part of the repair was transferring the (1) plastic humidity adjusters for vegetable/fruit drawer, (2) plastic crisper drawer covers, and (3) metal bar on front underside of crisper cover. I ordered a new rubber door seal for around door, new bottom door seal and spinner impeller and nut to hold on bottom arm as it looked weak. Everything worked great except bottom door seal which looks slightly different and would NOT stay on. I ended up putting back on the old one. Door doesnt leak but not sure it would even be worth it sending part back as I already tossed bag out. Other parts worked great and DW cleaning better. Read more
