I looked up and ordered a new display panel. Since it was not showing anything I was hoping something on the board just failed. I replaced the stirrer fan cover and fan, which had some carbon and slight burn marks on it. It was difficult to remove the fan cover as it did not rotate. I had to pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver, breaking the plastic tabs on the cover (which was being discarded anyway). I then cleaned any visible carbon deposits and replaced the cover and fan, using the old stirrer fan holder as it appeared OK.
