This is a Frigidaire main top for electric ranges. It sits beneath and holds the range's heating elements. If this part is damaged, it's usually obvious. It may dent or in some extreme cases, rust, and should be replaced if it's no longer able to hold heating elements. Before installing this part, make sure that power to the stove is cut, and do not begin repairs until the range is completely cool. A screwdriver, nut driver, and small dowel rod may be needed to install this part. Start by removing each heating element and drip pan. The old cooktop should be held in place with a number of screws or mounting brackets, the first of which may need to be accessed from inside the oven. Mounting hardware must be removed from the old cooktop and installed in the new one before putting the new cooktop in place. This is a genuine OEM part compatible with ranges from Frigidaire brands, including Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and others. This product includes no additional hardware.
