I replaced the stirrer fan cover and fan, which had some carbon and slight burn marks on it. It was difficult to remove the fan cover as it did not rotate. I had to pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver, breaking the plastic tabs on the cover (which was being discarded anyway). I then cleaned any visible carbon deposits and replaced the cover and fan, using the old stirrer fan holder as it appeared OK. This part came next day. super fast. open door . remove screws on inside facing edge of door. this seperates door front and back halves. unplug electric from dispenser then remove 6 screws holding it to the inside of door. remove dispenser and install new one in reverse order. took 20 to 30 minutes on a small economy size GE dishwasher

Once receiving the parts, I Pulled out the dishwasher and removed side panels - didn't even have to disconnect anything. Removing the door panel was easy -- remove 6 Torx screws, and the panel falls off. Next you need to remove an electrical plug and 2 individual wires from the old dispenser. The plug came right off, but the wires were not easy to access, and they fought me more than I expected. With some pliers and wiggling, they eventually let go and came free.
The dispenser is held in place with 6 Phillips screws through 2 removable metal brackets, and those came out easily. The toughest part of the job...
