This little plastic piece is very fragile. If is the bottle is not dropped vertically in line with the peg, the peg can easily snap. Poor design. You can not buy the peg separately. You have to replace the entire collar. It is easy to replace the collar. Just twist the collar and lift to remove. Place the collar and twist to lock in position. You do not need any tools. Read more

After analysis, I noted the "spike" that punches through the water bottle was loose in the ring. I was able to adjust the spike to stop the leak, and knew it needed replacing. The new ring/spike combo fixed the problem, and also flows water better due to increased openings. Read more
