Charles V Lebanon , TN February 15, 2019 Appliance: Model NUMBER ON BOTTOM UNDER CABINET. TOSSED PAPER. It was simple to replace the control, it took me about 29 minutes. First turned off the breaker. I took the cooktop out of the counter, put two planks under it to hold it up, took off the glass, raised the main part up from the metal box and put 1 2x4 under the control end to hold it up. took out 2 screws, pulled out the old control, changed out the wires one at a time, put it back in with the $8 screws, took out the 2x4,dropped in the box, put the glass back on. turned on the breaker and tested it. then i put it back in the counter after removing the planks that held it up. i paid a pro $275 to do this before . i watched him and it looked pretty simple which it was. John B Cranberry Twp , PA November 25, 2017 Appliance: Frigidaire Frigidaire/Cooktop FEC30S6ABF Cook top burnt would stay on high and not turn off. I shut off the breaker, removed the knob and removed the two screws holding down the cooktop from under the cabinet. I removed the cooktop and flipped it over. I removed the screws holding the cover plate. I unscrewed the two screws holding the switch but cold have done that before flipping the cooktop. Make sure you move the wires one at a time. Both switches are clearly labeled but I would have lost track of which wire was which. One of the wires does have an extra tab on it for the 6th wire so don’t be alarmed. Reverse the process and you are done. It really was a straight forward repair. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
