I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. 1st. replaced thermostat probe inside wall oven - no change. Then removed range heating element and measured it with ohm meter for continuity and found it to be OPEN. Ordered replacement range heating element; measured it before install and found it to be a few ohms - installed in less than 5 minutes and tested. ALL WORKS GREAT. Both items purchased with shipping were just over $100. (I chose to keep the thermostat probe instead of returning it being the oven is just over 10 years old). Read more

It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. The blower wheel center was worn down and spinning freely on shaft. Removing front covers, controls and brackets gave access to blower, which front half came off removing screws. (One screw underneath bracket) Pushed new blower on. (It's keyed and has small tabs that line up with groove on shaft). Installed clamp, reassembled and tested.
