Whirlpool W10190935 Ice Maker Control Module OEM Part

SO I FIGURED THAT ALL THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF IT WERE FINE SO THE LOGICAL THING TO DO WAS TO REPLACE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WHICH CONSISTED OF THE THERMOSTAT {THE BRAIN} AND THE CONTROL MODULE WHICH I PURCHASED AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE . I REASSEMBLED THE UNIT AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING LIKE NEW EVER SINCE. THANK YOU!

I assumed (correctly) that the ice flipping mechanism was okay, and the problem was in the timer module - which had a manufacturer's part number on it. The entire ice maker cost about twice what the price of the timer assembly so I figured I'd take a chance. I ordered the part which came quickly, replaced it (easy - three screws) and the unit is now working properly. The only 'problem' I had was that the water level adjustment control was not identified nor was there an adjustment guide included for making adjustments. This situation was cleared up with a call to your customer service people who looked up and told me what the adjustment procedure was. I was very impressed by the technical understanding of the customer service people and, what appeared to be, a sincere interest in helping me solve my problem.

Traced the problem down to the control module, went on line found the right one and ordered it. received it in 2 days. with the help of the Video I was able to install it in about 10 minuets. About hour later the ice maker was producing ice. Thanks applianceparts pros.com.

First I replaced the dual water inlet valve on the bottom rear. That did not solve the problem even though it was listed as the most probable cause of the problem. I then replaced the control module & motor assembly. That fixed the problem! The videos are excellent but not exact for all models. For example, on my appliance: 1) the water lines are different diameters so they can not be switched at the inlet valve for further checking & 2) the electrical connection to the ice maker is not removable from the freezer wall but must be disconnected from the icemaker itself .A TIP: while waiting for the control module to arrive, I removed the ice maker, cleaned it, & put it in the freezer so it would already be very cold when I replaced the module. This saved many hours of waiting for it to chill & start functioning,.I had my first 'ice dump' in less than 3 hours. You have a great web site!

Replaced control module. Easy, 15 minute fix which solved the problem.
