Description

This whole house carbon filter is used in water pumps to reduce the number of contaminants found in water. This filter removes odors, rust, sediment, and sand that is often found in well water and some city-provided water. These impurities can affect the taste of drinking water and, in turn, affect the taste of coffee, tea, and foods cooked using water. It may also have an odor if the area has a high concentration of sulfur or iron. The manufacturer suggests replacing the filter every 30,000 gallons or every three months. This carbon filter is used on an in-line water filter that supplies water for the whole house. It is often used in combination with water softeners. If the water begins to taste or smell before the filter's three-month recommended life, a new filter should be installed.
